  • Abhay  Parikh
    Abhay Parikh, MD Gastroenterology, Newport Beach, CA

    Dr. Parikh received his medical degree from the UT Southwestern School of Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of California, San Diego(UCSD). Subsequently, he did his Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr Parikh has held many leadership roles including being the past President of the Orange County Medical Association, member of the Executive committee of Hoag Hospital and a member of the Finance committee of Hoag Hospital. He is presently on the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee and the Clinical Quality committee.

  • Alan M. Freedman
    Alan M. Freedman , MD Urology, Newport Beach, CA

    Dr. Freedman is certified by the American Board of Urology (ABU) and has been practicing in this specialty for more than 25 years. He has continually passed rigorous additional testing and reviews required by the ABU for re-certification. His practice is centered in Newport Beach, next to Hoag Hospital’s main campus. He has served twice in the past as Chairman of Urology and has been a member of the Executive Committee. Raised in Boston, Dr. Freedman received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, graduating cum laude from Harvard College. He went on to obtain his medical doctorate from the UCLA School of Medicine. After completing a two-year Surgical Residency at Harvard Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Freedman returned to UCLA Medical Center, where he completed his Residency in Urology. He has held academic appointments at Harvard Medical School and the UCLA School of Medicine; and has had the privilege to train at two of the top five teaching hospitals in the country.

  • Devin K Binder
    Devin K Binder, MD Neurology / Neurological Surgery, Fountain Valley, CA

    Dr. Binder attended Harvard University, majoring in Biological Anthropology, and was awarded the prestigious Hoopes Prize for his summa cum laude senior honors thesis “Serotonin and behavioral state.” Aspiring to pursue both neuroscience and clinical medicine, he enrolled in the M.D./Ph.D. program at Duke University, graduating in 1999 with combined M.D. and Ph.D. degrees. While at Duke, he decided on a career in clinical neurosurgery and research. Between 1999 and 2005, Dr. Binder completed a surgical internship and neurosurgery residency at the University of California, San Francisco. Following residency, he won the prestigious William P. Van Wagenen international traveling fellowship from the American Association of Neurological Surgeons to go to Germany for a one-year epilepsy surgery fellowship at the University of Bonn. Since January 2010, Dr. Binder has been in private practice in neurological surgery in Orange County and Pomona and also accepted research and teaching positions at the University of California, Riverside, where he runs the NIH-funded Translational Neuroscience Laboratory and teaches in the UC Riverside School of Medicine.

    Homeira Mehrabian , MD Gastroenterology, Newport Beach, CA

    Dr. Mehrabian received her medical degree and completed her residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Following her residency she completed her fellowship at UC Irvine Medical Center. Dr. Mehrabian was awarded the 2014 through 2016 Orange County and California’s Top Ten Doctors Award in Gastroenterology and was recognized as the 2012 through 2016 Patients’ Choice and Most Compassionate Doctor Award Winner. Dr. Mehrabian has been dedicated to the care and study of diseases and maladies related to the digestive organs for nearly one and a half decades. She is passionate about extending extraordinary care to all of her patients.

  • Jared R Younger
    Jared R Younger, MD Ophthalmology, Fountain Valley, CA

    Dr. Younger graduated from the University of Arizona College of Medicine, where he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society as one of the top medical students in his class. He then completed Ophthalmology training at UT Southwestern and Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX. This was followed by Internal Medicine Internship at St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach, CA. He has also received his Master of Public Health degree, and has completed a fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the prestigious Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA with advanced training in LASIK and Refractive Cataract Surgery. He also served as Assistant Professor in the Cornea and Uveitis Division and attended to patients who required complicated corneal transplant surgeries.   • Kent  Marangi
    Kent Marangi, MD Orthopedic Surgery, Mission Viejo, CA

    Dr. Marangi received his bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and completed a year of research at the Stanford VA Hospital. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) in 1989. He completed residency training in general orthopedics and orthopedic trauma at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center. In addition, he completed a one-year fellowship in Sports Medicine under the tutelage of Dale Daniel, M.D., an internationally renowned surgeon and a pioneer of arthroscopic knee reconstruction. Dr. Marangi received specialty training in the arthroscopic management of complex injuries to the knee and shoulder, was a faculty member of UCSD School of Medicine, and acted as the team physician for UC San Diego. His research on knee injuries has been published and presented internationally. Dr. Marangi is the team physician for Saddleback College and Capistrano Valley High School.

  • Kevin  Belasco
    Kevin Belasco, MD Dermatology, Newport Beach, CA

    Dr. Belasco has been practicing for 15 years. His journey to becoming a Board Certified Dermatologist began upon receiving a BA in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of California at Santa Cruz. He holds a Master of Science in Pharmacology from the University of Iowa College of Medicine and received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2004. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Sun Coast Hospital in Largo, Florida and then completed a Dermatology Residency at Sun Coast Hospital, Nova Southeastern University in Largo, Florida. Dr. Belasco has trained at numerous universities and medical centers throughout the United States, including Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.

  • Michael   Hurwitz
    Michael Hurwitz, MD General Surgery, Newport Beach, CA

    Dr. Hurwitz is certified by the American Board of Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and fellowship-trained in advanced minimally invasive surgery and surgical oncology. He has been in practice at Hoag Hospital since 1998. His clinical interests include: the application of minimally invasive/robotic surgery to hernia repair, single-incision gallbladder surgery, and gastrointestinal surgery; endocrine surgery (thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal surgery); and the surgical management of melanoma. In addition, he serves as Medical Director of the Hoag Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine Center. Dr. Hurwitz received his Bachelor of Science from Tulane University, and his Doctorate of Medicine from Louisiana State University New Orleans Medical Center. He completed his General Surgery residency training at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and a fellowship in Surgical Oncology from Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and a second fellowship in Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery from The University of Southern California. He also served as past president of Hoag Hospital Department of Surgery.

  • Patricia   Korber
    Patricia Korber, MD OBGYN, Newport Beach, CA

    Dr. Korber graduated from the University of Illinois Medical School and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Michigan and Harbor-UCLA. She is board certified and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has served on the Board of Directors for Hoag Hospital 552 Club and the Board of Directors for Greater Newport Physicians. She has been practicing in Orange County since 1988 and is affiliated with Hoag Hospital. In 1995 she co-founded Newport Beach OB/GYN, one of the largest and busiest groups at Hoag. After 20 years in practice, Dr. Korber has elected to open her own private gynecology office. She has 34 years of experience and is committed to giving exemplary care to every patient she sees.

  • Robert Martin Wald
    Robert Martin Wald, MD Plastic Surgery, Fullerton, CA

    Dr. Wald received his medical degree from The University of Southern California. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons(ASPS) and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). Dr. Wald is a past President of the Orange County Society of Plastic Surgeons and has won numerous awards throughout his career, including being named one of the Top Doctors in Orange Coast Magazine for the last 10 years. Dr. Wald is also on the clinical faculty at Harbor-UCLA where he teaches and trains plastic surgery residents, allowing him to keep abreast on all the latest plastic surgery procedures and techniques.

    Dr. Rice has been a practicing dentist for nearly 30 years, helping patients in and around Orange County since 1987. He received his dental degree from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. Since then he has had additional training from other prestigious dental schools such as Kois Center Dental implants, Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies TMJ treatment, Pacific Aesthetic Continuum, Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry, Dental Organization of Conscious Sedation Dentistry and University of Southern California Sleep Apnea Treatment.   • Sheri L Rowen
    Sheri L Rowen, MD Ophthalmology, Newport Beach, CA

    Dr. Rowen graduated from the University of Maryland College Park and received her medical degree from the University of Maryland in Baltimore. She completed her surgical internship and fellowship at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital and completed a two-year vitreoretinal research fellowship at the renowned Wilmer Eye Institute. Her residency training for ophthalmology was completed at the University of Maryland. In 1996, Dr. Sheri Rowen founded Mercy Medical Center Department of Ophthalmology in Baltimore and served as the Medical Director of the full service ophthalmology and aesthetics practice until 2015. She has demonstrated cataract surgery techniques during live surgeries in France, Italy, Sweden, and Australia, and was one of the first surgeons to feature CO2 laser eyelid surgery.

    Sina Safahieh, MD Psychiatry, Newport Beach, CA

    Dr. Safahieh is a double board certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist. He is a graduate of the UC Irvine Adult Residency program and UC Irvine Child & Adolescent Fellowship program.   • Timothy W Gibson
    Timothy W Gibson, MD Orthopedic Surgery, Huntington Beach, CA

    Dr. Gibson graduated from the University of California, Irvine, with a B.S. Degree in biological sciences. After attaining his medical degree from the UCLA School of Medicine, he completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center. He finished his sports medicine fellowship at the San Diego Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center under Dr. James P. Tasto. Dr. Timothy Gibson is board-certified in orthopedic surgery. He specializes in sports medicine, arthroscopy, fractures, and joint replacement. He also evaluates and treats a wide variety of orthopedic conditions and sports injuries.

  • Todd  Miller
    Todd Miller, MD ENT / Facial Plastic / Otolaryngology , Los Alamitos, CA

    Dr. Miller is an accomplished and highly trained head and neck surgeon, specializing in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. As a board certified surgeon, Dr. Miller completed his training at Loma Linda University where he specialized in head and neck surgery. During this time at (LLU), he participated in a number of cutting-edge research projects and made numerous presentations at professional conferences. He also trained under the former director of facial plastic surgery at Stanford University, Dr. Jim Koch, later receiving training in advanced body contouring techniques.
